How do food suggestions work?

Makan Apa? uses your selected country, Halal Only preference, and meal-time filter. The first time you open it, the app explains these preferences and offers a shortcut to Settings. You can change them whenever you like.

Halal Only hides non-halal suggestions. A dish may appear if a halal version exists; this is not restaurant certification. Confirm ingredients, allergens, and halal suitability with the food provider.

Food results include taste, spiciness, a description, and main ingredients. Use Search it or Open Map to explore further, or Cincai Again for another suggestion.

How do I make my own list?

Open Custom Mode and tap Create category. Give it a name, add at least two different options with the plus button, choose an icon and colour, then tap Save. You can also start with a suggested list such as Weekend plans or Dinner plans.

Tap your saved category to make a pick. Each option has an equal chance, so the same answer can appear again. Open Manage to edit a category or remove one you no longer need.

Where are my custom lists saved?

Custom categories, options, icons, colours, and their order are saved on your device. There is no account or cloud-sync feature. Clearing app data or uninstalling can remove your lists, subject to your device’s backup and restore behaviour.

How does Who’s Up? work?

Choose Who’s Up? in Cincai Mode, then pick one of two ways to choose a person:

• Touch & Hold: at least two people each hold one finger on the pad. Keep the same group still for the three-second countdown. One finger is selected. Lift all fingers before starting another round.
• Enter Names: add at least two different names or use Quick add players to add numbered players. Tap Pick Someone to choose. Each person has an equal chance on every round.

If your phone cannot detect everyone’s fingers, use Enter Names. Names belong to the current picker session; use a Custom Mode list if you want to save choices for later.

How do I arrange my categories?

Touch and hold a category on the home page to open Arrange categories. Drag cards into position, then tap Save order. Cincai Mode and Custom Mode each remember their own order. You need at least two categories in a mode to arrange them.

Can I change a custom category’s look?

In the category editor, tap the icon to browse or search for another one, then save the icon selection. Swipe through the colour row to choose a colour. Save the category to keep the changes.

How do I change the lucky-number range?

Tap the range shown on a Lucky Number result, or open Settings → Lucky number range. Set your minimum and maximum, then save.

How do I copy a lucky colour?

Tap the hex code on a Lucky Color result. The app copies the code to your clipboard and shows a confirmation.

Which languages are available?

Choose English, Chinese (中文), or Bahasa Melayu in Settings. You can also change your country and choose whether to show the home-page intros.

Is there a guide in the app?

Open Settings → App Guide for step-by-step help with creating custom lists, choosing icons and colours, and arranging categories.

How do I check for updates?

Open Settings → Check for updates. If a newer version is available, follow the prompt to your app store. If the check fails, check your connection and try again. On Android, update checks need a Google Play installation.

Reporting a problem

Tell us what happened, what you expected, and the steps that led to the problem. Include your app version and whether you use Android or iOS. You can attach a screenshot if it helps explain the problem.

Read the privacy policy for information about local lists and settings, analytics, and support messages. For a privacy request, email us with “Cincai privacy request” in the subject. No account is needed to use Cincai.
